And what a marvellous message to get! thank you so much for saying that, I can’t tell you how much it means to me. Putting out a video with me at the centre of it was not the most comfortable thing to do - but I have been so bolstered and reassured by the reaction. (And very happy to be able to pass the comments on to Leonie whose first piece of work it is!)
I can understand the discomfort at being in the spotlight, yet Leonie created a sensitive portrait that meshes different interesting aspects of your story relevant to us. Please share praise with her! I love how she captures you in different places and from different angles, and the light.
So glad you liked the video and that it had a calming effect - felt very self conscious about putting it up as it is a bit 'all about me' but find it is almost like watching someone else and it has the same effect on me - of slowing right down. And yes, gardening is humbling. Forces one to accept the inevitable, in every way - all the big life and death stuff as well as the stuff in between.
That's the thing about foundations--they are boring and expensive but so, so necessary. There's a lesson in that, which I would prefer not to have to know, but there you are.
It's certainly a lesson I have now learned big time. I think I knew it already but never had it so forcibly rammed home. Timely though, about to start a new book and not going to skimp on any of the early stuff, much though I long to get stuck into the juicy parts. I do hope you enjoy the video.
What a marvelous video. Thank you for sharing!

I will copy and paste this lovely, considered comment to her. Thank you.
Jenny, as a gardener and writer, I just adored that video. It was completely en pointe and showcased your private space so beautifully.
I was entranced and felt myself slowing right down.
As for gardening - isn't it always a series of cascading events? It teaches one to be accepting if nothing else...
PS: hoping my punctuation is in all the right places, but if not - c'est la vie!
Your punctuation is just perfect!

I'm looking forward to watching the video.

There are very few things that don’t need good foundations…even clouds have them (if you think about it).
So very true. I’m pondering the foundations of clouds now!
Really? Looking forward to reading that Post.
